Thermo-Auricular© Therapy - (Hopi Ear Candles) have been used traditionally by Shaman Healers of indigenous tribes since ancient times. The Hopi are a Native American people from Arizona, USA who handed down the tradition of ear candle healing (or Thermo-Auricular© Therapy). The Hopi used the candles to induce a trance like feeling in their initiation rituals.
The Biosun Hopi ear candles are the traditional natural therapy ear candles made from pure beeswax, honey extract and traditional herbs such as sage, st john's wort, camomile and pure essential oils.

How Thermo-Auricular© Therapy Works
Earcandles have a purely physical function. A light chimney suction effect action and the movement of the flame create a vibration of air in the earcandle, generating a massage-like effect on the eardrum. This induces a pleasant feeling of warmth and a balance of pressure in the ears, forehead, throat and sinuses. It is soothing and helpful for earache and headache, ear noise for example; tinnitus, excess ear wax, glue ear, rhinitis and vertigo, stress, throat infections and nervousness.
Treatment may also spontaneously cause freer nasal breathing and an improved sense of smell, even when the nose was blocked before treatment. The treatment is excellent for getting rid of the tailend of a cold that is lingering. Hopi ear candles are suitable for old and young alike.

For additional mileage your treatment price will be increased by 50p for every

What happens during a treatment
It is recommended that you seek advice from a trained practitioner before treatment. Earcandles are contraindicated in the presence of a perforated eardrum, grommets or where there is inflammation or infection of the ear, or skin diseases in and around the ear.
Before the first initial treatment you will have a consultation with the practitioner. You will then be asked to lie down on your side in a comfortable position and if you have a better hearing ear, that ear will be treated first. The candle is then inserted gently into the outer ear passage. Once the candle is lit, you will hear a pleasant crackling and hissing of the flame. This, combined with the relaxing aroma of the herbs and essential oils induces a wonderful sense of relaxation and calm.
The candle will be held in place until it has burnt down to the marking. It is then removed and extinguished in a glass of water. You will receive a gentle massage around the ear and side of your face and neck to help drain the toxins down through the lymphatic glands.
You will then be asked to turn over to your other side for the other ear to be treated the same way. It is generally advised that both ears should be treated, one after the other, each with a new earcandle.
When the second ear has been treated and you have had the second side of face and neck massage, you will then be asked to lie on your back for a full face massage. Again this will ensure all your toxins will be drained away through the lymphatic system.
You will then be allowed a short rest period to support the overall result and offered a glass of water to help you get grounded again.
In most cases there is a sufficifant change in the clients symptoms;
* If they felt stuffy with the tail end of a cold before the treatment with the oils and herbs - they will be able to breath more easily.
* If they suffered before the treatment with a headache or sore throat again with the help of the aroma of the oils and honey in the candles - their pain will ease and you should feel better.
